When I attended the Green Power for Mobile session last year during Mobile World Congress 2009, I met with the President of Bergey Windpower. They had made a presentation showing telecom deployments of their small wind turbines. They are based out of Norman Oklahoma and have been around for sometime now. In Africa, they work through SIs who are affiliated with them, and several telcos presented case studies of deploying their wind turbines on mobile base station towers.
